Case Study: SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit 2024

At Bluechilli, one of our key strengths is that we have always been comfortable with merging the worlds of digital design and print. With our boundless creativity and investment in the latest modern printing technologies, we work closely with our clients to ensure their message translates seamlessly to online spaces and high quality print products. Earlier this year, we were commissioned by West Midlands Growth Company to deliver a comprehensive collection of print products for delegates at the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit 2024, which took place from the 7th to 11th April.

For this year’s event, the eighteenth edition of the SportAccord World Summit, just two years on from hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Birmingham was chosen as host city, welcoming over 1,500 global sports leaders and stakeholders from Olympic and non-Olympic International Federations. Whilst the International Convention Centre was the hub for the exhibition and many of the key meetings held, events were held throughout the city. 

To ensure that all event delegates were informed of all inspirational events taking place throughout the week-long summit and were able to navigate the city of Birmingham with ease, in addition to delivering information digitally, the event organisers called upon Bluechilli to provide a range of print materials to help each of the attendees gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from the schedule of events.

Creative Design & Digital Print Solutions

With our expertise in creative design and various print formats, we were excited to help showcase our city to delegates from over 65 countries. 

Delegate Newsletters

With the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit spanning several days, we were asked to produce four issues of an A4-12pp Delegate Newsletter, delivered on the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th of April to report on the previous day’s events. To ensure that the newsletters were delivered to delegates before 7am on each of the four mornings, we were required to print overnight to meet these strict deadlines.

Delegate Maps

With attendees travelling to Birmingham from around the globe and attending events not only at the central hub of the ICC but at other locations in the city, we were tasked with designing and printing A5 folded maps of Birmingham City Centre, providing simple instructions for delegates to find their way around. 

Exhibition Banners and Graphics

With our expert knowledge and experience of large scale print solutions for exhibitions and conferences, we were asked to supply a range of bannerstands and fabric wall graphics to help promote SportAccord at the summit and around Birmingham. We produced banners and graphics to enhance brand visibility and convey key messages of the summit to help create a professional, engaging environment that left a lasting impression on attendees.

Coach and Arrival Boards

To help create the best possible experience for event delegates, many of whom were visiting Birmingham for the first time, it is the small details that count just as much. To welcome visitors and make them feel comfortable and confident that they were in the right place, we designed and printed arrival boards for delegates arriving at Birmingham Airport, along with signage for the coaches transporting delegates into the city centre. The cards were designed to offer immediate brand recognition to reassure travellers as they disembarked that they were in capable hands.

Branded Stationery for the Official Dinner

For the official Host City VIP Dinner  at the Grand Hotel Birmingham, we produced branded Table Plans, Menus, Table Cards, Table Numbers, Guest Cards and Tent Cards, helping to not only enhance the guest experience and contribute to the atmosphere, but reinforcing branding and enhancing the overall cohesiveness of the summit as a whole.

Success at SportAccord

With over 1,700 delegates attending, this year’s exhibition has been described as the busiest SportAccord summit yet. At Bluechilli, we are delighted to have played a small role in such a successful event.
